Richard Capra, 68, was found dead inside his Bridgeport, Chicago, apartment on May 7, 2007. His death was ruled a homicide after investigators discovered significant injuries and clear signs of a struggle, indicating an assault that proved fatal. Authorities noted no signs of forced entry, and they believe Capra may have known his assailant.
Few leads were available early in the inquiry. Progress was hampered by limited witness cooperation and scarce physical evidence, leaving motive and suspect identification unclear. The case unnerved neighbors and highlighted concerns about the safety of older residents in the neighborhood.
Does anyone in Bridgeport remember Richard, his routines, or any unusual activity around his building in early May 2007?
