On the morning of September 16, 2012, 44-year-old Pareshkumar Patel arrived at the Raceway gas station he ran on Jefferson Davis Highway in Chesterfield, Virginia. As he exited his vehicle about 6 a.m., two people wearing hoodies confronted him, forced him into a van and drove away. His disappearance lasted four days; his body was found September 20, 2012, at Ancarrow Boat Landing in Richmond. An autopsy confirmed he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Those who knew Mr. Patel described him as a religious man with no known enemies. Investigators from the Chesterfield County Police Department, the Richmond Police Department and the FBI worked the case, examined aspects of his life including a civil lawsuit he was involved in, and named the two hoodie-clad abductors as persons of interest. No arrests have been announced; the FBI is offering up to $15,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Does anyone have information about the two people seen forcing him into the van or about activity near the Raceway station on September 16, 2012?
