In the predawn hours of April 18, 2012, a domestic dispute in Hampton, Virginia ended in multiple deaths. Carla Denise Frye Williams, 38, was found in the street on Ravenscroft Lane with severe injuries including gunshot and stab wounds and burns; she was taken to a hospital and died of those injuries. Firefighters found two more victims inside the family home — her 14-month-old daughter, Tori Kaitlyn Williams, and her 76-year-old grandmother, Katie Frye — who had died in a fire investigators determined had been set intentionally.
Police encountered Carla’s estranged husband, 38-year-old Travis Williams, on the roof of the burning house. An exchange of gunfire followed between him and officers; Travis Williams was hit by police gunfire, taken to a hospital, and later died. Court records show the couple were in the middle of a contentious divorce, Carla had a protective order against him, and police had been called to the residence multiple times in the months before the killings.
Who remembers signs of escalating trouble in that neighborhood or has information about the days before April 18, 2012?
