Elston ’Deon’ Brown was 25 when he was shot and killed after an altercation in James City County, Virginia, on November 4, 2011. Brown, a former standout basketball player at Lafayette High School, went to a residence on Theodore Allen Road where an argument with Desmond Glenn Holland, then 20, escalated in the backyard and Holland fired a handgun twice. One round struck Brown in the waist; he managed to reach his grandmother’s house on Centreville Road but collapsed and later died at Williamsburg Sentara Hospital.
Brown’s 89-year-old grandmother and his 3-year-old daughter were nearby when the shooting occurred. Holland turned himself in to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail and said Brown had a history of bullying and had previously pulled a gun on him. The court heard testimony about prior fights between the two men that pointed to a long-simmering conflict.
Who has information about Brown’s movements that night or the history between him and Holland?
