Richard Chambers was 19 when he was fatally shot on the evening of April 9, 2007, on a residential street on Chicago’s South Side. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead after emergency responders arrived. Reports say he was approached and fired upon by unknown assailants.
Investigators struggled to develop leads because few witnesses were willing to come forward, and the neighborhood was experiencing a rise in violence that year. No suspects had been apprehended or charged, and the case remains unsolved. The lack of cooperation from the community and the broader spike in shootings in 2007 complicated efforts to bring Richard’s family answers.
If anyone has information about that night or remembers seeing anything on April 9, 2007, please share what you know.
