On the evening of June 22, 2007, 19-year-old Michael Tatum was shot and killed inside an apartment in the 300 block of East Beal Street in Henrico, Virginia. At least two people forced their way into the residence and opened fire. Three people were shot in the attack; Tatum died at the scene and 18-year-old Maurice Thomas was critically injured and later died at a hospital. A third victim survived their wounds.

Henrico County investigators describe the case as an unsolved double homicide. No arrests have been announced and the suspects who entered the apartment have not been publicly identified. The investigation into the killings of Michael Tatum and Maurice Thomas remains open.
