Quincy Bernard Brown, 37, a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy, was found dead in a Virginia Beach apartment in May 1996. An initial account from the apartment resident’s husband, Eddie Makdessi, said he had shot Brown after arriving home to find Brown stabbing his wife, Elise Makdessi. Forensic investigation contradicted that story.
Police concluded Brown had been lured to the Makdessi home and was shot by Eddie Makdessi as part of a premeditated plot. Investigators found that Eddie had taken a $700,000 life insurance policy on his wife about a month before the killings, and evidence indicated he then stabbed Elise to death. Makdessi fled the country with the insurance proceeds and was later located and returned to the U.S. He was convicted in 2006 on two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Does anyone have information about Brown’s movements or contacts in Virginia Beach in the weeks before May 1996?
