Jason B. Walker was shot and killed on the morning of February 9, 1992, in the parking lot of the Newpoint Shopping Center in Virginia Beach. He was 23, a United States Marine Corps reservist and a student at Norfolk State University, and had been leaving the Bridge Nightclub after a performance by rap artist Doo Doo Brown. Walker was driving a red Chevrolet Beretta when a bullet shattered his car window and struck him in the head. He was taken to a local hospital and died shortly afterward; the State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide.

Witnesses told police they saw a man standing in front of the nightclub firing a handgun and described the suspect as a black male about 5 feet 10 inches tall wearing a black leather coat. The case later went cold and no arrests have been publicly announced. The Virginia Beach Police Department’s Cold Case Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.

If anyone was at the Bridge Nightclub that night or has information about the shooter, please come forward.
