Kenneth Babers, 40, was found fatally shot in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood on October 5, 2017. His body was located on the 100 block of Dakota Street, near the southern end of the Potrero Hill Recreation Center, and was discovered sometime between 7 p.m. on October 4 and 8:24 a.m. on October 5; medical units pronounced him dead at the scene.
The homicide occurred within the Potrero Hill housing development, one of the city’s older public housing complexes. At the time of discovery police had not identified any suspects or established a motive. Babers did not have a fixed address, and investigators asked the public for any information that could help with the case. No major breakthroughs have been reported to date.
Anyone who knew Kenneth, who was in the area that night, or who may have seen activity near Dakota Street or the recreation center is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department’s tip line with information.
