A block party at Romney Meadows apartments in Lafayette turned deadly the night of April 23–24, 2022. More than a hundred people were gathered in the 3000 block of Phipps Court when a dispute inside an apartment where gambling was happening escalated into gunfire. Multiple people were shot as partygoers fled; Edward Roberson, 29, was fatally wounded during the exchange and died at the scene. Thirty-four-year-old Tommy Marshall was also killed, and four others were injured.
Police found numerous shell casings both inside and outside the unit. Investigators identified Kevon Kareem McCaster as a primary suspect; he was injured during the shooting, treated at a hospital, and later taken into custody. McCaster was charged in connection with the deaths and other injuries.
Does anyone have information about Roberson’s movements that night or contacts who attended the party and haven’t spoken with investigators?
