Enrique Alcorta was 18 and a senior at Marion High School when he was shot in a parking lot on West 30th Street in Marion, Indiana, on the night of September 6, 2019. Officers found him at about 10:24 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the chest; he was taken to Marion General Hospital but was pronounced dead at 11:13 p.m. Enrique’s family remembered him as loving, kind, generous and outgoing — someone who enjoyed hip hop and upbeat music, fishing, gaming, and playing soccer.

The investigation quickly produced a person of interest. On September 7, 2019, 35-year-old Jomar Xavier Worthy was taken into custody for questioning; after providing detectives with information about the shooting, he was arrested and booked on a preliminary charge of murder. Does anyone who knew Enrique or who was in the West 30th Street area that night have information to share?
