Jamea D. Parker, 28, was found dead in a driveway near Buckeye and Butler streets in Kokomo, Indiana, shortly after dawn on November 22, 2018. Police had been called around 3 a.m. to Great Escape Bar and Grill on North Washington Street for reports of multiple shots fired; Parker’s body was discovered about a half-mile from the bar. The coroner pronounced her dead at the scene and an autopsy determined a single gunshot wound caused her death. Investigators classified the death as a homicide and worked to connect the shooting reports at the bar with the later discovery of the body.

Court records state that Cameron Wood shot and killed Parker and possessed the handgun despite prior felony convictions that made him a serious violent felon under Indiana law. Police arrested Wood on December 17, 2018, and prosecutors filed charges including murder and firearm offenses. Another man, Terry Lawrence, was also prosecuted in connection with the same incident. What can anyone who was in Kokomo that night add about Parker’s movements or about events near the bar?
