On August 15, 2018, 64-year-old attorney and former magistrate judge Tracy Edward Page was shot multiple times and found with four gunshot wounds at his home on West 4th Street in Hobart, Indiana; his death was ruled a homicide. An off-duty officer nearby heard the commotion and alerted authorities, and responding officers discovered Page at the scene.
An 83-year-old longtime friend and client, William Landske, arrived at Page’s residence with his daughters to retrieve documents and was taken into custody at the scene. Page’s husband confronted and disarmed Landske just outside the home. Landske was charged with murder and held without bail.
Page had a long career in the local legal community, including 16 years as a magistrate judge for the Superior Court of Lake County and recent work as a public defender; he had submitted his resignation with plans to teach and serve as a senior judge. If anyone knew Page, Landske, or was in the Hobart area that day, what did they see or hear?
