Skyler Naugle, 35, was last seen in Scottsburg, Indiana on July 16, 2018 and was reported missing by his family on July 21 after several days without contact. A search focused on the Little York property of friend Michael Joseph Sanders, who was believed to be the last person to see Naugle. Investigators found a body in a shallow grave in a wooded area on the property; an autopsy later identified the remains as Naugle’s and ruled the death a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head.

Evidence gathered by the Indiana State Police showed Sanders gave conflicting accounts about Naugle’s whereabouts and suggested he had tried to conceal the crime. A shovel and other items on Sanders’ property were linked to the burial. On July 26, 2018, while prosecutors were seeking an arrest warrant, Sanders attempted to flee by stealing a car but was captured in Austin. He was arrested and charged with murder; the case went to trial in October 2019 and the jury returned a guilty verdict after about an hour of deliberation. Sanders was sentenced in November 2019.

Did anyone in the Scottsburg or Little York area know Skyler or his movements in July 2018 and can add details about his last days?
