On the morning of Saturday, June 16, 2018, 35-year-old Roger Randolph was found in the parking lot of Hop’s Blues Room on South McClure Street in Marion, Indiana, suffering fatal gunshot wounds. Officers responded around 5:00 a.m. after hearing gunfire; Randolph was discovered lying between two vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the shooting was not random and recovered shell casings from two different calibers, indicating more than one firearm may have been used. Less than 24 hours later the same bar was heavily damaged by a fire that fire officials ruled arson; police treated the fire and the shooting as related. Detectives reported encountering a wall of silence from people at the scene, and there were reports that threats had appeared on social media before the shooting. No specific suspects were publicly named in the immediate aftermath.

If anyone who was at Hop’s Blues Room that weekend or who saw activity around South McClure Street has information, please come forward.
