D’Angelo White, 28, of Evansville, Indiana, was fatally shot on New Year’s Day 2018 in what investigators say began as a drug transaction that turned into a robbery. A 17-year-old woman, Charissa Robinson, contacted White to buy marijuana and lured him to the 1400 block of South Bedford Avenue. While White and Robinson were in his car, three men — identified as Mykel Blair, Noah Coleman, and Derrick Butts — approached the vehicle intending to rob him. White was shot during the robbery, managed to drive a short distance, then crashed into a house on Washington Avenue. He told bystanders a female had set him up before losing consciousness and later died at a hospital. Officers recovered 68 grams of marijuana from his vehicle.
Investigators arrested five people in connection with the killing. Charissa Robinson was charged as an adult for orchestrating the meeting, and Mykel Blair was identified as the shooter. Derrick Butts and Noah Coleman were also arrested for their roles, and an 18-year-old, Kyley Vincent, was later arrested for helping plan the robbery. Has anyone in Evansville got information about the meeting on South Bedford Avenue or the people involved?
