On the evening of October 30, 2017, in Evansville, Indiana, 29-year-old Dewone M. Broomfield was at home on East Maryland Street with his girlfriend, Mary Woodruff when two men entered their residence and opened fire. Woodruff was struck twice in the head and died almost instantly. Broomfield suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including two to his torso and a graze wound to his forehead, but managed to call 911 and identified his attackers as William Rice and Deshay Hackner.

He again named them to arriving officers before being taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:36 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing two men leave the home after shots were heard, and Rice and Hackner were later apprehended following a police chase and charged with two counts of murder. Reports indicate Hackner had recently been seen with a large amount of cash and had a substantial criminal history.

Is there anyone who knew Dewone or Mary who can share information about the days leading up to October 30, 2017?
