On or around June 26, 2015, 16-year-old Antonio Lackey and his 18-year-old brother Arreon were last seen at a hotel in Merrillville, Indiana. Their mother reported them missing on July 6, and on July 17 fishermen and a property owner found the decomposing remains of two individuals in heavy woods near the 7000 block of Grand Boulevard in Hobart. Dental records identified the victims as the two brothers.
Investigators say the disappearance was a targeted abduction tied to a dispute over a stolen handgun. Surveillance and phone records allegedly place seven people at the Knights Inn confrontation and the transport to the Hobart site. Prosecutors describe the brothers being separated, forced into vehicles, marched into the woods, ordered to their knees, told to hug each other, and then shot in the head execution-style.
Seven people were charged in connection with the kidnappings and murders. Authorities allege Jeri Latoya Woods shot both teenagers and that David Johnson IV organized the abduction to recover a missing gun; other members of the extended Johnson family and additional accomplices are also named, and some defendants later cooperated with prosecutors. Does anyone have information about the brothers’ final movements in late June 2015?
