On Thanksgiving evening, November 27, 2014, 24-year-old Brandon Boone was shot and killed inside Divine Styles-n-Cuts barbershop in Anderson, Indiana. Boone was getting a haircut after hours; his brother was in the reception area when two men forced their way in. One intruder had a handgun and the other a baseball bat and both demanded money. The owner complied, and Boone moved toward the restroom saying he had no money. At that moment the gunman fired one shot, striking Boone in the back. The assailants fled and Boone was later found in the front yard of a neighboring home and died at St. Vincent’s Anderson Hospital.

In August 2015 authorities arrested 26-year-old Raymond Rashard Johnson and charged him with murder, three counts of armed robbery, and two counts of aggravated battery. By December 2015 the murder charge against Johnson was dropped; he remained in custody on other unrelated offenses. The investigation has faced challenges and the death has not reached a definitive legal conclusion. Did anyone in the Anderson area hear or see anything that night or know more about the two intruders?
