In the early hours of a cold Tuesday morning in Indianapolis, the life of 42-year-old Daryl Burkes was tragically cut short. On January 3, 2012, just after 2:30 a.m., police responded to a call at the Brighton Park Apartments located near 79th Street and Township Line Road.
