On a late winter afternoon in Springfield, Missouri, the life of Stanley R. Taylor, a 43-year-old Black/African American man, was brought to an abrupt and violent end. On February 26, 2021, at approximately 3:40 p.m., emergency services received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence on North Concord Avenue. When officers from the Springfield Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Taylor inside the home, deceased from what were later determined to be gunshot wounds.
