In the summer of 2020, a shooting in Kansas City tragically cut short the life of 50-year-old Desimund E. Star. On the evening of July 13th, a caller alerted police to the sound of gunshots near 8th and Prospect Avenue.
Officers arrived at the scene just before 9:15 p.m. to find an unresponsive male, later identified as Star, lying in the street. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died a short time later.
