In the fall of 2019, the community of Columbia, Missouri, was shaken by the tragic and premature death of Dajion Harris, a 13-year-old African American boy known for his happy demeanor and love for sports. A student at Oakland Middle School who had previously attended Benton Elementary, Dajion was remembered by friends and family for his sense of humor and 'goofiness.' On the weekend of the incident, specifically on Saturday, October 19, 2019, Dajion was at a residence on Rice Road in Columbia.
