In the summer of 2019, a quiet apartment complex in North St. Louis County became the scene of a grim discovery that left the community in shock. On Saturday, July 6th, a person entered an apartment on Chambers Road to find a scene of unimaginable violence. Five men, including 54-year-old James L. Penny, lay dead, all victims of gunshot wounds. The other men were later identified as Rondall Mullin, 65, Derrick Penny, 54, Ronald Brewster Jr., 40, and Rodney E. Holt, 37.
