On the afternoon of January 21, 2019, Cameron Douglas, a 23-year-old Black male from Kansas City, Missouri, was fatally shot outside an apartment complex in the 5300 block of Oak Leaf Drive. Police officers dispatched to the scene discovered his body on the front stoop of the building, where he had collapsed after suffering gunshot wounds.
