On the evening of November 13, 2018, Kansas City police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 4400 block of Garfield Avenue following reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene around 6:00 p.m., authorities discovered 55-year-old Harvey E. Long outside a home suffering from gunshot wounds.
