On the night of May 19, 2018, violence erupted in the Penrose neighborhood of north St. Louis, claiming the lives of two men. Ira Johnson, a 55-year-old male, was fatally shot alongside 61-year-old Sylvester Caston. The double homicide occurred around 10:30 p.m., drawing police to the scene where they discovered both victims had succumbed to their injuries.
