On the morning of January 30, 2018, tragedy struck the Mark Twain neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, when 42-year-old Genna Clements was fatally shot. Officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were summoned to the 5300 block of Claxton Avenue shortly before 11:00 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the scene, investigators discovered a harrowing sight inside a vehicle parked on the residential street.
