A 36-year-old man, Michael Shearer, was found fatally shot in the street on a Tuesday night in January 2018. The incident occurred in the 4000 block of Shreve Avenue in the Penrose neighborhood of St. Louis. Police were alerted to the sound of gunfire by a ShotSpotter notification and discovered Shearer suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
