Just after dawn on June 1, 2016, a call came in about a man lying in a roadway near the Dunksburg Bridge in rural Johnson County, Missouri, south of Interstate 70 between Concordia and Sweet Springs. When a deputy arrived around 5:15 a.m., the stillness of the country road was broken by the discovery of a body in the 1260 block of Northeast 1075 Road, placed where passing headlights would find it. The victim was Thomas Noel Craig, a 48-year-old white male.
