On the afternoon of Memorial Day, May 30, 2016, a violent encounter unfolded in the parking lot of a grocery store in St. Louis County, Missouri. Wesley Hughes, a 24-year-old male, met with another individual at the Schnucks supermarket located in the 1500 block of Sierra Vista Plaza in the Spanish Lake area. The meeting, which took place in broad daylight around 12:45 p.m. amidst a parking lot full of holiday shoppers, was allegedly arranged for the purpose of a narcotics transaction.
