In the early hours of a spring day in Kansas City, Missouri, the life of 42-year-old Gerald M. Brown was tragically cut short. On May 21, 2016, Brown was found suffering from gunshot wounds near the intersection of 45th Street and Chestnut Avenue. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save him.
