In the early hours of October 10, 2015, in Kansas City, Missouri, 18-year-old Pablo Samyr Lopez was fatally shot outside a BP gas station in the 4800 block of Independence Avenue. Another man, 21-year-old Jorge L. Calderon-Ruiz, was also killed in the incident.
