In the summer of 1922, the life of 35-year-old Charles O. Sterner, a male Prohibition Agent, was cut tragically short in St. Louis, Missouri. On June 25th, Sterner, along with local law enforcement, was investigating the illegal production of moonshine on the grounds of the Sharpshooters Park & Club. As they conducted their search, an unknown assailant opened fire from a nearby building, striking Sterner and inflicting a serious wound.
