In the summer of 2014, a violent act shattered the peace of a Barnwell, South Carolina community. Johnny 'Dossie' Mixson Jr., a 49-year-old Black/African American man, was killed by a gunshot on June 28, 2014. Known for his kind spirit and warm presence, his death left a significant void in the lives of his family, friends, and neighbors.
