On a summer evening in 2022, just a day after his 21st birthday, Deonte Kamari-James Day of Washington, D.C., was fatally shot in Suitland, Maryland. The shooting occurred around 5:25 p.m. on Monday, June 20, in the 3800 block of Regency Parkway.
