In the quiet, pre-dawn moments of February 2, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace on the 6500 block of Hil Mar Drive in District Heights, Maryland. When patrol officers arrived around 12:10 a.m., they discovered the lifeless body of 24-year-old Nathaniel Hampton III inside a vehicle.
