On the evening of June 28, 2021, a young man, 20-year-old Brice Lawrence Jackson, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 2000 block of Brooks Drive in an unincorporated section of District Heights, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m., and despite the response of officers, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a resident of Southeast, Washington D.C.
