In the summer of 2011, a tragedy befell the city of Louisville, Kentucky, with the death of Jerome Wayne Mosley Jr. A young African-American man of 24, Mosley's life was abruptly cut short on the first of July. The circumstances of his death were violent, as he was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound at a residence located at 3904 Wewonka Avenue. His passing left his family, including his parents, Marla Thompson and Jerome Mosley Sr., and his sister, Della Bowens, in deep mourning.
