On a cold Saturday evening in late winter, the life of Joseph Bryant Carney, a 37-year-old man from Temple Hills, Maryland, was tragically cut short. On February 27, 2021, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the air in a parking lot on Iverson Street in the Hillcrest Heights area.
