A 24-year-old Black male, Fredrick Markeith Young, was killed in a shooting on the morning of January 19, 2021, in Bryans Road, Maryland. The Charles County Sheriff's Office reported to the area of South Hampton Drive at Weston Drive around 9:39 a.m. for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Young with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite life-saving efforts from citizens and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
