In the afternoon hours of a Wednesday in late October 2020, tragedy struck in a Southwest Baltimore neighborhood. Jaheem Atkins, a 16-year-old male, was in the 900 block of Poplar Grove Street when gunfire erupted. The teenager was struck multiple times. When police responded to the scene at approximately 3:25 p.m., they found the young man suffering from his wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, Jaheem was pronounced dead at the scene.
