In the harsh afternoon light of January 27, 2020, violence erupted on the 400 block of South Bentalou Street in Southwest Baltimore, forever altering the course of several lives. Jermell Rhames, a 31-year-old Black male, was caught in a hail of bullets in a triple shooting that also wounded a 15-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man.
