In the midst of organizing a toy drive for children who had lost their fathers to violence, Sean Alexander Davis, a 33-year-old Black man, was fatally shot in broad daylight on a busy Baltimore street. The incident occurred on December 17, 2019, outside his auto shop, Opus Auto, in the 1100 block of East 25th Street. Known affectionately as 'LayedBack Jack' by his more than 70,000 Instagram followers and the wider community, Davis was a business owner and a dedicated community activist.
