In the late summer of 2019, the life of 27-year-old Nelson Standifer of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was tragically cut short. On September 18th, at approximately 12:15 in the afternoon, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 8200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway in Glenarden. They discovered Standifer in the parking lot of a convenience store, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
