In the Cherry Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, a day meant for celebration turned into a tragedy. On January 10, 2019, as her son marked his seventh birthday, 25-year-old Renika Howard, a Black female, was fatally shot. The incident unfolded in the late afternoon, around 5:20 p.m., on Fisk Road, where responding officers discovered Howard suffering from gunshot wounds to her upper body. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
