Preston Green, a 26-year-old Black man, died on February 24, 2018, in Baltimore, Maryland, after gunfire shattered a Saturday afternoon on the city’s west side. Police said the shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Smallwood Street, a residential stretch where the ordinary sounds of home life can turn suddenly quiet.
