On Christmas Eve of 2017, a young Hispanic male named Jose Herrera Guzman, aged 18, was fatally shot in Silver Spring, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace. First responders arrived at 1010 Quebec Terrace to find Herrera deceased outside from multiple gunshot wounds. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later officially ruled his death a homicide. At the time of his death, police reported that Herrera had no known address.
