In the spring of 2015, a tragedy unfolded in a Southwest Baltimore neighborhood that left the community in shock and mourning. Seven-year-old Kester Tony Browne III, a bright and funny second-grader, was found murdered in his home on Upmanor Road alongside his 31-year-old mother, Jennifer Jeffrey-Browne. The two had been fatally shot in the head in what was a particularly violent May for the city.
