In the spring of 2015, a wave of violence gripped the city of Baltimore, and in its midst, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Armand Byrd Parrine, a 26-year-old Black/African American male, was shot and killed on May 7, 2015. The incident that claimed his life unfolded on a basketball court situated in the Harlem Park neighborhood of West Baltimore, a place that should have been a space for recreation and community.
